R&D Project Manager for Product & Application Development and Quality (m/f)

Purpose & key responsibilities of the role:

  • Initiation, planning and execution of projects for development of new LWT products and applications with internal and external partners
  • Significant contribution at transferring project results to commercial scale
  • Planning supervision and evaluation of pilot and commercial trials
  • Manage and improve quality management system for the pilot scale production - built up a quality management system for a commercial scale production
  • Generate and supervise the quality standards of product delivery for development partners/customers and assure product release according to these standards
  • Initiation and execution of product quality improvement projects
  • Management of interfaces with R&D infrastructure, technology development, legal, business management, and technical customer service
  • Execution of literature and patent research
  • Initiation and drafting of product & application patents

Our expectations for this exciting role:

  • Academic degree (university, FH) in textile/nonwovens, natural scientific discipline or (chemical) engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in nonwovens
  • Nonwoven downstream experience in terms of production and commercialization (converting, processing, regulatory)
  • Background in sustainability related topics a plus
  • SAP knowledge a plus
  • Experience in process troubleshooting & optimization, able to recommend improvements for product portfolio
  • Exceptional analytical problem solving, equipment vendor management skills, and strong computer skills
  • Six Sigma, DOE and SPC experience is a definite plus.
  • Project management skills & experience beneficial
  • Mechanical aptitude for design changes/modifications
  • Willingness to travel
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with good communication skills.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team to meet all of the project deliverables

The annual gross salary for this position is according to collective agreement in the chemical industry based on 38 working hours/week at least EUR 51,800,00 with a willingness to overpay - depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally you will also take part in the Lenzing bonus system.
