Device Manager (m/fx) - Device Technology (80-100%), Global Drug Development, Schaftenau, Austria
7! This is number of combination product technology platforms that Novartis is currently working on. Novartis has an ambitious program in drug delivery devices and to meet our future portfolio needs we are seeking an experienced engineer in the development of medical devices.
The role involves developing innovative medical devices to make us an industry leader in this field. It requires an experienced engineer who can take responsibility on a device platform development and contribute to projects for documentation compliance and technical aspects. A high degree of collaboration with Novartis internal stakeholders and external partners will also be necessary.
An ideal candidate would have at least 8 years of experience in parenteral device development. Additional skills such as system engineering is highly preferred. Must be organized, structured in their approach and able to drive to reach solutions that meet milestones. Excellent spoken and written communication in English.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Work on Platform development and participate to project activities
• Lead and author Design History File documentation
• Lead technical engineering activities / design / problem solving
• Define Device interfaces with Primary Packaging, Secondary Packaging & Eco System
• Implement system engineering approaches
• Manage external vendors
What you'll bring to the role:
• Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 8 years of experience in mechanical device development (Auto-injectors/Pens/Pumps)
• Experience in Design History File / Design Control documentation
• Experience in plastic and metallic components
• Good knowledge in injection molding, design for manufacturing and metrology
• Proficient spoken and written communication in English
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Experience in system engineering is highly preferred
• Must be organized, structured in their approach and able to drive to reach solutions that meet milestones.
