Medical Services Lead - Austria (m/f/d)

The Medical Services Lead is part of the country Medical Affairs Department and leads a team of 2-3 Medical Services specialists.


  • Responsibility as "Information Officer" to the BASG/AGES, as per Austrian Drug Act
  • Ensures correct information to customers and patients in accordance to internal and external laws and regulations by:
  • safeguarding professional promotional and non-promotional messages through all channels
  • safeguarding accurate and customer-tailored responses to unsolicited inquiries
  • providing input and guidance to new concepts and deployment of technical developments
  • Ensures timely development, update and rollout of SOPs and related communication to safeguard compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Provide leadership and management to maintain an efficient and highly motivated team
  • Coordinate all aspects of Medical Services including Medical Information and Medical Review and serve as interface between the local team and regional / global Medical Services and relevant vendors
  • Provide background support for Medical Advisors and Therapeutic Area Leads as determined by the Country Medical Director
  • Provide high quality input in concept creation of innovative promotional initiatives
  • Ensure user support on review and documentation tools as well as training on correct submission of promotional materials
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations within team
  • Provide vendor oversight and quality assurance for Medical Information vendor
  • Develop respective standard responses in case of need


  • Advanced scientific degree such as MD (strongly preferred), PharmD, or PhD in life sciences
  • Proven pharmaceutical experience; scientific knowledge in multiple therapeutic areas highly preferred
  • People manager experience strongly preferred
  • Fluency in German and English, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong scientific baseline knowledge in a relevant therapeutic area, and eagerness to continue to learn more in depth about multiple therapeutic areas
  • Ability to understand clinical trials methods and interpretation of clinical data, with sound scientific and clinical judgment
  • Present scientific information with confidence, in a way that engenders trust and credibility
  • Proactive "can do" attitude, strong listening, probing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization, simultaneously handling multiple tasks and working under pressure
  • Excellence at teamwork in cross-functional groups

The minimum annual salary for this position is EUR 72.700,-- and varies according to the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
