Business Development & Marketing Manager (m/f/d)

Fulltime | Starting immediately

As a Practice Group Business Development Manager at Wolf Theiss, you'll be in charge of all aspects of how our legal services are "marketed" to the public. You act as the single point of contact for your practice group, holding the strings of all ongoing business development activities together. You work with our legal experts on new campaigns, on new client relationships, on modern ways of reaching clients, and at the same time on building and fostering long-term relationships.

Your tasks:

Clients & markets:

  • Be the expert on our clients. Understand and document our client process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make
  • Understand the competitive landscape - be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned
  • Then drive changes to our business development activities and marketing processes based on what you learn

Positioning & promotion:

  • Collaborate with marketing, data analysts, and other departments to develop expertise positioning and messaging that resonate with our target client personas
  • Develop a campaign plan for the expertise you support in conjunction with our marketing team, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing clients and the acquisition of new clients
  • Define and run business development activities such as focus campaigns, networking events, speaking opportunities, event participations, etc. always leveraging the potential of the experts in your legal teams
  • Assess the effectiveness of the business development programs that support your practice group on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes


  • Act as thought leader for the services you support. Understand and support your practice group; train colleagues on new business development vehicles, develop internal tools and processes and external collateral and prepare them on how to use it

What we expect:

  • Completed business education (FH, Uni)
  • Relevant experience in the marketing and sales of consulting services - industry knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of common IT tools (MS Office, SAP, PowerBI)
  • Excellent English and German skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
