Job description

As Project Director Automotive Radar SoC Design you manage international development projects for automotive radar products.

What does that mean in detail?

  • You lead the toplevel integration of a complex automotive Radar transceiver in close alignment with the overall Product Project Manager, IP Subsystem Project Managers and technical leads from Analog Design, Digital Design, Concept Engineering, etc.;
  • You manage a diverse project team across several sites & countries in a complex project environment and assign responsibilities within the project;
  • Take on full project manager responsibilities from project initiation until production release;
  • Continuously focus on project quality, assess progress and ensure that goals are met even in the face of changes, challenges and risks.

To achieve this, you will:

  • Drive structured problem solving in an interdisciplinary team setup;
  • Structure the project's work packages, ensure compliance and m onitor the work packages according to the agreed project goals and budget;
  • Break down the project complexity to transparently report the status to middle and upper management;
  • Conduct a forward-looking risk management. In close cooperation with your stakeholders you identify possible risks, mitigation measures and/or backup scenarios;
  • Manage and control the entire project life-cycle and ensure hand-over to sustaining function as main contact person for all questions regarding the project;
  • Manage your stakeholders properly within an international environment.


You like to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and you are the definition of a communicator (f/m/div). Your way of being inspires and encourages your colleagues to succeed and you know how to motivate and develop people.
You have the interest to deepen your knowledge in technical issues and to structure technical topics. You recognize new opportunities and cooperate across boundaries to pursue them effectively. At the same time you remain aware of the big picture.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • An excellent technical understanding based on a degree in physics, microelectronics, electrical engineering or comparable;
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience in development of semiconductor products, and/or technologies;
  • Thereof at least 6 years of experience as project manager of complex projects as well as proven experience in SoC design projects;
  • Experience with complex project structures in a multi-site environment over several project hierarchies;
  • The ability to lead others to solve complex matters, to identify innovative solutions and to build up team structures based on diversity of thought, skills and personality;
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills to handle your internal and external interfaces;
  • Leadership experience and excellent intercultural competencies;
  • Fluent English skills.

A plus is:

  • Experience in ISO26262 compliant product developments;
  • Experience with RF and mmWave design in the semiconductor industry;
  • An IPMA-C certification or equivalent.

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, employment group J ( A higher payment is negotiable depending on your expertise and skills.
