The Wood Products division is a leading provider of innovative wood-based solutions. The product range covers all areas of construction, including massive wood elements and wood components. It also includes a variety of sawn timber goods and pellets for sustainable heating. The emerging product range of biocomposites addresses the opportunities to replace plastics in consumer goods and creates potential in various demanding exterior applications in a cost-competitive way.

We are looking for an experienced Quality Specialist (Startups) (m/f/d), who will support the successful ramp up of our future projects. The main focus of the role is to ensure that new startups deliver the required level of finished product quality, primarily through staff training and process development.

This is a new division level role that is part of the Product Quality Function. You will be joining a team of quality experts, and you will also be a member of the Operation Improvement Startup Team. You will get to work with different mill sites and across functions and bring your own knowledge and ideas in developing quality in new startups. This role will include a medium/high level of travel.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Supporting the local mill organization during new investment projects so that quality processes are followed according to SEWP standards and that end-product qualities meet requirements
  • Ensuring startup on production shifts and machinery progresses as planned for product quality and product certification
  • Ensuring that division level and local quality procedures are understood and followed
  • Establishing training plans and activities for team leaders and operators from raw material and product quality perspective. Participate actively in the execution of the trainings.
  • Supporting in daily problem-solving communication between steering system supplier, production line and Stora Enso IT
  • Developing an efficient set up for knowledge transfer and learning of the staff on the new production site in all quality topics
  • Creating training material and structuring it to fit into the SEWP e-learning system
  • Supporting Product Quality colleagues to develop quality practices across Wood Products
  • Supporting continuous development of quality of existing operations and best practice sharing

Your qualifications and experience:

  • Good understanding of wood products, including manufacturing methods and quality requirements
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and quality assurance methods
  • Experienced in coaching and training new skills and target oriented working style to operators
  • Good English skills (any other language is an advantage)
  • Interested in increasing technical knowledge of products such as CLT
  • Motivating and inspiring personality
  • Very structured working approach and good self-management
  • Interested in developing training practices and supporting standard practices, documentation and systems
  • Capability to work in a dynamic project environment, with international teams and independently
  • Proactive, result oriented, willing to take initiative and responsibility
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis
  • Autocad basic knowledge is an advantage
  • Experience on technical project work is an advance
