Environment and Purpose

The development of products exceeding state of the art is one important column for the strategic growth of HOERBIGER's Engine Division. The offered position will be embedded in the Injector Development Group which focusses on the OEM-Market of natural gas injectors for stationary and maritime engines as well as for mobile applications. Creativity and ingenuity shall lead HOERBIGER to strengthen partnerships with well-known engine manufacturers helping customers to meet efficiency, emission and performance targets.

The HOERBIGER Engine Division wants to strengthen their role of being a reliable partner for gas engine OEMs. This is connected to the need of a customer oriented and agile product development.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Driving product excellence within the portfolio of the HOERBIGER Engine Division
  • Taking ownership for workpackages during the development process of gas injectors
  • Detail designing and drafting
  • Strengthening calculation competencies in the Injector Development Group
  • Innovative mechatronic product development
    o Acquire new concepts for innovative products
    o Transforming Ideas into hardware
    o Transferring customer feedback into new design features
    o Transfer state of the art technologies from other industry Segments
  • Planning, support of tests at our well-equipped R&D Laboratory together with the Testing and Validation Team
  • Technical support during procurement for prototype components
  • Coordination of prototype manufacturing processes
  • Develop design process standardization tools and templates

Based on wage structure agreements, we are offering a gross monthly salary starting at EUR 3.440 with respect to individual qualifications and experience.

Technical or Functional Knowledge

  • Experience / Knowledge in mechanical design
  • Understanding of modern development processes
  • First contact with design methods like Design Reviews, APQP or FMEA beneficial
  • Competences in mechanics and machine elements
  • Basic knowledge in the fields of material science, tribology and wear
  • Ability to perform design calculations
  • User knowledge for Finite Element Software such as Abaqus / Ansys beneficial
  • Experience / Specialisation in the fields of
    o Automotive Engineering,
    o Combustion Engines or
    o Precision Engineering beneficial

Experience and Essential Requirements

  • The candidate should hold a University degree (University of applied science / TU) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a related field
