Manufacturing Execution System Engineer (f/m/d)

As part of Piplife's Industry 4.0 strategy we are currently improving the digitization of our Manufacturing environment. As a result, an MES system will be implemented. In addition, Pipelife has developed a "3D" model: the Physical line; the Digital twin and the Service team to utilize the acquired data. The Service team generates practical tools for manufacturing by analyzing the data into meaningful information/dashboards etc.

Your Tasks

Pipelife's MES application will provide a variety of functionalities with an initial focus on Planning, Production Performance analysis, Quality Management, Maintenance, Product tracking & tracing and Data Collection/ Acquisition. At the same time, we want to unify our business and production processes in all these areas.

The MES Engineer will report to the Manufacturing Excellence Officer and has the following responsibilities:

  • Directing the activities to specify, design, develop, document, test and implement a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solution for Pipelife's production companies - according to a defined roll-out plan
  • Setting up a Service (as part of the "3D" model) for the manufacturing organizations to benefit from the Industry 4.0 data
  • Provide recommendations to the Pipelife production companies on MES system level solutions to support their business needs
  • Support the design of MES customizations, implement and support the validation of these MES customizations
  • Set up a system for continuous plausibility checks, ensuring data integrity and implement corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Determine best-practices in applying the MES system for business (information) needs, set-up a consolidated intercompany benchmark
  • Based on the MES benchmark opportunity, drive larger Lean Six Sigma improvement projects across companies

Your Profile

  • University degree in an Engineering, Computer Science or Manufacturing direction University degree in an Engineering, Computer Science or Manufacturing direction (alternatively, significant experience in the industry)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the manufacturing industry within European markets
  • Experience with Change Management, MES systems and in particular with MS Azure IOT as a platform
  • Practical knowledge with SAP or other ERP systems favorable
  • Clear and apparent affinity with numbers, digitization, software usage
  • Willing and able to travel to the Pipelife facilities in Europe, min. 50% of the time.

You will work in an international team within a highly diverse and multi-cultural organization. Your office will be in the Headquarters in Vienna or - upon agreement - in one of our major European locations. The position requires frequent business travels to our production sites with location all over Europe.

The monthly minimum gross salary for a local contract amounts to EUR 3,323.23 according to the collective bargaining agreement.
