International Project Manager (Pharmaceutical Product Introduction and Technical Support) (f/m/d)

The Global Pharmaceutical Technology Support group (> 100 employees) is the steward and owner of the science and technology and the associated processes for small molecule products in our Animal Health organization being manufactured by internal sites and external partners. The global team Product Introduction and Technical Support (8 employees) is among others responsible for the introduction of new pharmaceutical products from R&D into a commercial production location. This team performs and/or coordinates the necessary steps (such as, but not limited to, scale up, validation, optimization of the process) to launch the product and maintain the product in a robust status.

We are currently looking for an additional team member, preferably based out of Vienna, Austria. The position can alternatively be based out of our Manufacturing site in Unterschleißheim, Germany.

In this position you are responsible for:

  • Project-based scaling up and commercialization of pharmaceutical products, developed by R&D, and bringing them to launch
  • Project-based transfer of existing pharmaceutical products from site to site and site to Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO)
  • Ensuring that pharma process technology projects are carried out with a consistent approach, on a timely basis and in line with our Animal Health (AH) strategy, Global Quality strategy as well as applicable regulatory requirements
  • Providing technical oversight, planning, coordination and support to manufacturing sites and identifying and leading projects for continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
  • Facilitating communication and interface for manufacturing sites to other global and support departments or lead investigation teams to solve major quality issues occurring with our AH pharma products

This role demands close cooperation with, in particular, R&D, Global Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Global Quality, Global Environmental Health & Safety, Regulatory, Site Management, CMO's and suppliers of equipment and materials. You report to the Director Pharmaceutical Technology and Support who is based in Boxmeer (NL).

Your profile:

We are looking for candidates who combine a firm background with outstanding communication and project management skills. Candidates who know how to connect and convince easily within a diversity of cultures and interests without losing touch with company and department strategy. You also bring:

  • Master or PhD degree in Science (Process technology, Pharmaceutical technology, Industrial Chemistry, Food Technology) or comparable degree with relevant work experience
  • Solid experience in technology or manufacturing position in a Pharmaceutical, Food manufacturing or Fine chemicals producing company or extended experience in an academic environment of Pharmaceutical/Chemistry departments
  • Business Experience in projects as site to site and R&D to site transfers will be an asset
  • Regulatory background incl. FDA and EMEA requirements or motivated to acquire this quickly
  • Strong knowledge of GMP requirements or motivated to acquire this quickly
  • Ideally experience with solid dose products (tablets, soft chews) within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent command of the English language; fluency in German being a strong advantage
  • Willing to travel abroad up to 30% of the time, predominantly in Europe
