Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Description

We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer COO (m/f) to join our executive team and take over the role of the internal business leader. In this position, you will be responsible for our Operations, Finance, Business Development and Sales departments and thereby play a key role for the future success of our company. In the Operations department, you will build the foundation of our growth by setting up efficient structures and processes that enable scalability. You will have a critical eye on KPIs and align company wide goals with weekly actions in all departments. Moreover, you will direct and steer financial planning, budgeting and reporting while always having an eye on critical issues and raising them towards management. As part of our executive team, you will be in constant alignment with other peers and contribute to the strategy of our company. We are looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years management experience at an Executive level, i.e. COO, Chief of Staff, CFO, PMO Lead, etc.
  • Optional: Previous relevant experience as a COO in an internet company (B2C or B2B)
  • Significant experience of scaling a fast growing technology business and achieving targets against revenue growth, profitability, market penetration and share and customer satisfaction or experience in high-performance environments such as strategy consulting
  • A data driven approach to problem solving with a strong sense for critical and counterfactual thinking
  • Experienced in setting up and growing cross-functional teams in scaling, international environments
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sales and marketing plans
  • Strong process design skills
  • Deep understanding of delivering an elevated client experience
  • Solid working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning
  • Passion, humility, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed; Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to operational management
  • Relevant leadership experience with teams
  • Outstanding communication, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent command of German and English (both written and spoken)

What to expect:

  • You will work closely with the founders (CEO & CTO) to develop and accomplish goals and strategic plans established by the CEO, Board of Directors and other key company executives
  • Hire, coach, inspire
  • Serve on company leadership team
  • Set company strategy and priorities
  • Strategically and disciplinary lead the operations division, consisting of business operations, office management, BI and HR
  • Prepare short, mid and long-term financial and business plans
  • Management responsibility for the strategic planning process and implementation of the business plan of the back office and other functional departments.
  • Establish company-wide KPIs and performance reports that enable steering of the company on a data-driven base
  • Handle internal information, align departments and manage communication to employees and between executives while keeping the people base motivated for the next mission
  • Overseeing the day-to-day of the business in operations and product
  • Building a data driven organisation
  • Expect startup experience
  • Direct and participate in acquisition and growth activities to support overall business objectives and plans
  • Competitive salary based on experience. (Minimum salary according to IT-KV EUR 65.996)
