As an Application Engineer Linux you will join one of our engineering teams responsible for high performance and high available IT Environment. You'll support given applications in terms of automation, operations, maintenance, deployments. For our complex environment it's key that our applications in production run smoothly. All the more, you'll need to ensure a fast resolution of incidents. Further, you'll automate the roll-out of new versions for applications and services. Your Arena:

  • Support & maintain Java based applications
  • Support & maintain NoSQL databases (Redis, Kafka, Cassandra, …)
  • Maintain, adapt and improve monitoring and reporting with AppDynamics, Kibana and SCOM
  • Set-up, optimize and fine tune application environments
  • Continuous improvement of Deployment processes and other routines
  • Analyze and fix incidents & problems, SLA monitoring
  • Optimization and tuning of application
  • Has specialized knowledge in more than one technology, i.e. database, middleware
  • Advise and support Product developing teams as well as Infrastructure teams on all topics
  • 2nd & 3rd Line support including participating in on-call router
  • Keep documentation up to date

Your Entrance Ticket:

  • First relevant work experience in Linux based applications
  • Good application server skills (JBOSS, NGINX, Tomcat)
  • Strong scripting knowledge (Bash, Python)
  • Experience with automation/orchestration (Ansible or similar)
  • Understanding of Database techniques and Middleware (messaging, NoSQL, MySQL)
  • Basic programming experience in Java or Node.js is a plus
  • Fluent English - written and spoken, German is a plus
  • Self-driven personality who is eager to learn
  • Good communication and training skills
