To strenghten our Support Team we are currently looking for a

Software Support Engineer (m/f)

Full-Time (38,5 h/W) - 1010 Vienna

As a member of the Support Team, your challenge is to help our customers getting the best value from our tools and solutions. Cooperating with development and quality management departments you will have first hand know-how sources at your disposal for tracking down issues and providing answers to customer requests. You will only work in our office in Vienna - no travelling is required.

You will:

  • be part of the support team located at the Altova headquarter in Vienna
  • analyze issues reported by customers via e-mail, telephone and remote desktop
  • report bugs via defect tracking system
  • develop solutions and workarounds to support the customer
  • educate customers how to use our tools and solutions


  • General understanding of and experience with Web technologies (XML, HTML, Client/Server environments)
  • Strong analytical skills and desire to stay up to date with new Web technologies and their application
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • General understanding of Object Oriented Programming and exerience thereof: Java, C#
  • Competency in both written and verbal communication in English language
  • Self motivated


  • Knowledge of / experience with: XBRL, UML, EDI
  • Experience working in a technical support team
  • Experience with telephone support
  • Competency in both written and verbal communication in German language
  • Basic knowledge of Mac OS

For this position we offer a minimum salary of EUR42.000,-- gross/year. Additional payment based on your qualification and experience is possible. Our office located in Vienna's first district has an excellent infrastructure and is conveniently accessible via public transport (we provide a transport pass for Wiener Linien - Kernzone).
