We are recruiting for our animal health site in 1210 Vienna/Austria a:

Associate Director Analytical Support (m/f/d)

Pharma Analytical Technical Support (PATS)
(Full time, permanent)

Brief description of position:

  • Owns, execute and directs Pharma analytical technical support (PATS) laboratory and transfer activities including training and mentoring of junior colleagues and regionally deployed temporary colleagues in a pharmaceutical GMP and quality control (QC) environment
  • Supports with his team PATS projects on various sites of the MSD animal health manufacturing network
  • will manage local PATS staff, including temporary colleagues
  • interacts with local QC and pharma process technology (PTS) team to generate synergies and effective resource allocation
  • Supports (global) programs in the region; where appropriate, own or share responsibilities for one or more programs/projects in the region
  • Represents PATS on local/regional/global teams, for example in analytical site transfer
  • Works with Director PATS in strategic deployment of all resources
  • Owns local as well as regional test remediation activities; support regional and global representation where appropriate. This includes periodic activity updates, conference calls, and face to face meetings. Requires knowledge of site QC laboratory capabilities (competencies, equipment, space, and general test format and execution) and capacities
  • Assists in the development and reporting of metrics for regional/global sites
  • Supports Director PATS to ensure Quality Control Method Remediation and Improvement efforts (QC Method Robustness) are aligned with Product Remediation and Improvement (Product Robustness) efforts where feasible. Works with Director in strategic deployment of all regional and site resources
  • Works with Director PATS to ensure remediation and investigation priorities are aligned with local Site Management, Quality Operations and Regional Heads at regional site(s)
  • Represents shop floor concerns related to Quality Control Method remediation and improvement efforts at sites to support informed decisions regarding project prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management

Qualifications, Skills & Experience required:

  • Bachelor degree, Master degree in pharmaceutical, analytical science or food chemistry required or equivalent job experience.
  • solid experience in the research, manufacture, and testing of Pharmaceutical products required including sound knowledge in HPLC, UPLC covering various separation principles and detection systems
  • Experience in method development & validation as well as method remediation
  • Analytical troubleshooting applying DoE
  • Supporting analytical investigations
  • Experience in leading (small) teams
  • Good german and English language skills in talking and writing
  • Proficient in technical writing and current computer usage (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
