Our client ist a private owned, global renewable energy company. For more than 30 years the company is successful in developing, constructing and operating international wind, hydro and photovoltaic power plants. For the Headquarters in the center of Vienna we are looking for a new team member.

GIS Analyst (m/f)

In this position your missions are linked to the research of new prospection sites for wind or photovoltic projects. The focus will be to develop a clear methodology for multicriteria analysis taking in consideration geographical conditions, maps, drawings and GIS automatization.

Your tasks:

  • Conducting GIS projects for the company within predefined geographical regions
  • Selection and optimization of appropriate GIS tools and methodologies
  • Collecting and managing GIS data and databases and dealing with all data needed to identify potential development areas for wind or photovoltaic projects
  • Improving access, viability and integrity of GIS data
  • Close cooperation with the respective country development departments and with GIS experts in France
  • Ensuring efficient communication between the departments and project managers

Your qualifications:

  • Technical degree (e.g.: school for higher technical education or university) with focus on geographical information systems, renewable energy, environment or urbanism
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in conducting GIS analysis
  • Knowledge in GIS software (ArcMap 10.6 / QGIS) and the MS Office package
  • Knowledge in using database tools as PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
  • Basis knowledge of specific software used for wind or photovoltaic analysis like Windpro, PVsyst, PVGIS and autocCAD would be well appreciated
  • Excellent knowledge in English both written and spoken is a must; other languages are an advantage
