Online Content Manager & Strategist (m/f/nb)

Full time / Vienna based

Role profile:
In this role you lead the further developing of our international as well as attached national website strategies - in close collaboration with our digital fundraising team & digital agency:

As an accomplished writer you will write and coordinate high quality content for our digital audience (international website, newsletter and other platforms such as Wikipedia). Through close dialogue with our Programmes and PR team you will identify compelling stories and produce creative, inspiring and engaging digital content, reflecting the respective target audiences.

As a passionate digital expert you will lead and drive search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO), constantly monitor and analyze website traffic as well as user engagement metrics. You will ensure that our online and electronic infrastructure is up to date as usable as possible in order to improve our performance metrics (such as web traffic, lead generation, conversion).

As an excellent relationship manager you will manage important partnerships - such as the partnership with our digital agency - and further develop networks e.g. with external digital experts.

As a great team player you work in close collaboration with your social media and digital fundraising colleagues - based in Vienna, as well as across Europe and Africa.

As a creative out-of-the-box thinker and self-starter you will own a broad portfolio of projects contributing to our international PR, to fundraising campaigns, video projects and social media channels.

Your working location will be Vienna, but there will be opportunity for travel to our other office locations in Europe, and also potentially to Africa.

Your profile

  • You are passionate about digital communications and consider yourself a digital native
  • You are an English native (or equivalent standard) and have excellent written and oral communication skills in English & the ability to write high quality content in English
  • You are an expert in website analytics and very familiar with search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO)
  • You are experienced in working with Photoshop, Premiere or other photo- and/or videotools
  • You are up to date in modern web technologies and versatile in juggling HTML, JavaScript and CSS components
  • Ideally, you know how to test and refine a site in order to fulfill Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) success criteria
  • You are a project management professional and are used to plan and implement projects on time and budget
  • You have proven work experience as digital content manager and several years of working experience in digital communications, online marketing or online advertising
  • You have experience and/or interest working in an international multi-cultural organisation
  • You are creative, open minded and an excellent team player
  • You have a personal interest in international development and human rights and are committed to Light for the World's mandate and values
  • You are willing to travel, including to our project countries in Africa, South America and Asia
  • Publishing or editorial experience desirable
  • Proficiency in German would be of benefit, and additional languages such as French, Portuguese or Czech would also be a plus (but not necessary).
