Job Description

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the EMEA accounting department including: month and end-year process accounts payable/receivable, cash management, intercompany accounting and royalty management, general ledger, payroll & utilities
  • Direct management responsibility for General Accountants
  • Direct supervision of the day to day operations of the accounting team
  • Support monthly close processes ensuring deadlines are met and senior management is alerted timely of potential issues and/or adjustments
  • Prepare, review and approve journal entries and accompanying reconciliations
  • Prepare, review and analyze complex and/or confidential accrual computations
  • Prepare standard monthly close schedules and ad-hoc materials for presentation to the management
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Support annual audits
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Support proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules
  • Ensure that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP, but also local GAAP


  • Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 7 - 10 years of combined Public Accounting and Private Industry accounting experience within a multinational business
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Working experience in SAP or other large ERP accounting software systems
  • Familiarity in US GAAP and SOX is advantageous; knowledge of VAT and Sales Tax
  • Excellent IT skills - competent to advanced level in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience as a people leader
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Customers focus and understanding the business
  • Ability to identify problems and suggest workable solutions
  • Able to think ahead in order to establish an efficient and appropriate course of action
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
  • Excellent English and German skills is a must

According to your proficiency and experience the minimal annual package will be EUR 65.000 for this position.
