The holder of the position is a specialist who is responsible for deployment and support of Global Blue's centralized revenue applications and services in an online transaction environment. The holder of this position will be assigned several responsibilities and has to ensure that the tasks assigned to him/her are fulfilled with high quality and short delivery time.


  • providing 2nd level technical IT support for centralized services deploying software releases to production and non-production environments using automation tools
  • documenting systems and troubleshooting information
  • Ensuring SLA fulfilment
  • providing training to other departments and team colleagues
  • analysing and solving of complex incidents, issues and problems
  • fulfilling service requests (e.g. data analysis, configuration, data requests
  • providing on-call duty for a broad range of IT services as part of a team schedule
  • constantly improving Global Blue core platform components in terms of availability, capacity and efficient resource utilization and performance
  • defining and requesting monitoring options (SCOM) and define and leverage operational management tools (SPLUNK)
  • participate and contribute to ITIL processes, especially but not limited to: Incident, Change and Problem Management

Reporting and collaboration

The holder of the position reports directly to the Senior Manager Service Delivery Revenue Applications. The position requires close collaboration within GB's technology department and product management (UoV).


Profile and education

  • experienced in supporting online transaction systems and off the shelf products on a 2nd level
  • relevant IT education concluded (desired: bachelor level or equivalent practical experience)
  • independent, goal oriented and self-motivated team worker
  • customer service orientation
  • operational hands-on attitude
  • broad-based general IT competence in a Windows environment
  • basic SQL knowledge
  • excellent analysing and troubleshooting skills
  • high quality standard levels
  • accuracy, diligence and high-risk awareness
  • good communication skills,
  • Good command of English, oral & written (B2).

Specific skills and knowledge

  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in supporting centralized IT services (2nd level)
  • Knowledge of ITIL
  • Practice in service deployment (automated and manual)
  • basic skills in web server administration, understanding of web services and service oriented architecture
  • Experienced with load balancers and high availability concepts
  • dedicated know-how of Microsoft Windows server operating systems
  • basic knowledge in SQL databases and query language (MS SQL and/or ORACLE)
  • basic skills with network operations and TCP/IP networking
  • scripting and/or basic programming skills (e.g. MS PowerShell)
  • basic experience with Linux systems

As required by Austrian federal law we hereby state, that the legal annual minimum compensation according to the Austrian collective agreement amounts to EUR 36.419,46, however the total compensation is a subject of individual agreement.
