The Head Chef is responsible for operating the kitchen of a diplomatic residence to ensure the highest possible standard of cooking to the Ambassador, the Family and Guests. Duties include: Planning menus and cooking for the Ambassador, family members, house guests and for official functions; purchasing and accounting for groceries for kitchen operations; supervising the Second Cook; scheduling based on the needs of the house; responsible for the cleanliness and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment; assisting with table service for small occasions.
The workweek is 43 hours. Salary above minimum of Euro 3,200 (monthly gross; 15 times per year) may be negotiated.
