Job description

In your new job you will:

  • Develop and integrate advanced metallization and back-end-of-line processes for new GaN power technology platforms and ensure compatibility with GaN HEMT processes and align with Infineon's long term process roadmaps
  • Coordinate and define unit process development in our leading GaN processing line which is fully integrated into our high volume fab for power semiconductors
  • Plan and evaluate design of experiments and process splits
  • Be the link to our packaging & assembly development and manufacturing
  • Participate in and lead problem solving teams using systematic 8D and 6sigma approaches
  • Perform design- and process FMEAs with focus on the effect of metallization and back-side processes on yield and reliability
  • Generate Intellectual Property
  • Support the volume ramp and yield learning


You describe yourself as an ambitious team player with outstanding technical expertise in metallization and back-end-of-line processes for semiconductor devices. You are innovative and use systematic approaches for straight forward problem solving. You like to use design-of-experiment methodology for fast and efficient learning cycles. You are strong in communication and in establishing networks in and around your working environment. You are keen to develop your technical and social skills in the No.1 company for power semiconductors.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A University Degree (master or above) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • More than 3 years of experience in metallization development of semiconductors
  • Sound knowledge in processes and properties of metals, dielectrics, polymers, metallization relevant reliability requirements, as well as chip/package interaction
  • Worked in a project team in a High Tech environment. Experience in own project management would be an advantage
  • Practice in systematic problem solving techniques
  • Experience with back-end-of-line development or packaging of power semiconductors is an advantage but not a must
  • Expertise in high-volume manufacturability, reliability and quality assessment
  • Excellent English language skills as a must, fluency in German as an advantage

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, employment group G-H ( A higher payment is negotiable depending on your expertise and skills.
