Strategic Project Portfolio Manager (m/f)

The Group Portfolio Management department - as part of COO division - is ensuring that Erste Group "does the right things", by helping to steer the change the bank (project) portfolio to advance the Group's strategic agenda. Key services we provide are prioritization of project demands, continuous portfolio readjustments together with our partners, provision of reliable and un-biased information and recommendations for decision making and running of governance platforms to ensure informed portfolio decisions.


  • steer a Group-wide pipeline of 50+ mEUR p.a. project portfolios, maximizing the strategic impact for Erste Group
  • ensure clear decision making inside a transparent frame of project and portfolio performance, status, cost, risk and resources
  • challenge and drive prioritization of project demand, balance portfolio resource requirements with available capacities, understand and scrutinize project interdependencies and co-ordinate with other divisions and impacted entities
  • ensure project, program and portfolio decisions are taken in their strategic context and are measured, tracked and controlled against quantified and measurable strategic objectives
  • lead the preparation and conduction of project investment committees and provide an educated recommendation for project approval
  • define overall, adequate and effective project, program and portfolio governance mechanisms
  • have at least 10 years of job experience in project, program and portfolio management functions in financial industries or consulting
  • use your excellent communication, persuasion and presentation skills to establish trusted relationships with board and executive management
  • are an analytical thinker with the ability to balance long-term, big-picture and short-term implications of individual decisions
  • speak excellent English and preferably one or more CEE languages
