At the moment we are looking for a

Student Resource Officer (f/m) - Full Time (40 hours/week)

Ideal starting date: September 2018

WVPU is seeking a customer-oriented individual to provide a diverse set of services aimed at enhancing the student experience and strengthening retention.

This position is intended to build up a visa consultancy service for WVPU students. The main goal is to actively support our students with all necesary legal advice and documentation as well as to communicate and interact with authorities.

Further, the position holder is expected to work in close cooperation with other student oriented service providers such as Career Services, Job Placement, or Alumni relations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build up a professional visa consultancy for the student body
  • Provide visa support for new visas and renewals - i.e. prepare documentation, interact and communicate with authorities
  • Act as a central contact point for study abroad, site transfer and international students, assisting and redirecting them as needed to key university service providers
  • Act as a central contact point for student housing support
  • Support the organization of extra-curricular activities as well as co-curricular programs and other student life programs
  • Assist in the transition of new students into the wider Webster community

Education and qualifications:

  • Minimum completed secondary education
  • Several years of relevant work experience
  • Profound knowledge of visa legislations, rules and regulations

Experience

  • Experience in higher education student services
  • Experience in communicating and dealing with Austrian authorities, handling of visa applications and renewals

Skills :

  • Customer relations skills
  • Proven team work and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural settings
  • Excellent communication skills in German; very good command of English

The applicant must have the legal right to work in Austria. The yearly gross salary on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) for this position is a minimum of EUR 31.000, - gross p.a. The actual annual salary depends on your qualifications and professional experience.
