A Functional Safety Engineer is part of the product development team and ensures the improvement of functional safety features in our automotive semiconductor products. We develop high-value products and services to advance fully and partly self-driving cars. To enable radar-based advanced driver assistance systems, we deliver end-to-end solutions to capture and process complex, safety-critical data from the vehicle's surroundings. These include radar sensor ICs as well as microcontrollers optimized for radar signal preprocessing.

Job description

In your new role you will:

  • Pursue the goal of improving the functional safety of our automotive semiconductor products
  • Be responsible for safety analyses and the technical confirmation measures
  • Apply relevant safety engineering methods (e.g. FMEDA, DFA, FTA) during product development
  • Contribute to the safety and success of our products by delivering safety analysis and safety manuals
  • Confirm the verification of the hardware safety mechanisms
  • Interact closely as an interface within an international team and our worldwide customers
  • Support R&D projects regarding safety concepts

This job is suitable for full- and part-time.

Profile

You listen actively to the customers and consider their point of view, thoughts, and ideas in order to balance the customer requirements and the interests of Infineon. Moreover, you live up to high quality standards, have a good sense for costs and strive for continuous improvement.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A university degree / university of applied sciences in Electrical Engineering, Microsystem Technology or Physics
  • 5+ years of comprehensive experience in the field of semiconductor concept engineering/system architecture or analog and digital circuit design
  • ATF16494 and A-SPICE know-how
  • Experience with ISO26262 as a plus
  • Very good understanding of safety engineering methods e.g. fault injection, FTA, DFA and FMEDA
  • The ability to build up lasting relationships and networks in a complex environment
  • Good communication and moderation skills
  • Fluent communication skills in English, German skills are a plus

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, at least employment group H (www.feei.at/arbeitswelt/kv-tabellen-statistik/mindestloehne-und-gehaelter). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. A higher payment is negotiable depending on your expertise and skills. Furthermore, Infineon offers additional employee benefits.
