Performing cutting edge biophysics is key to our goal of drugging the big "undruggable" proteins that cause cancer. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Associate Principal Scientist in the field of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to be a part of our Structural Research team in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry.

As an NMR specialist in the Medicinal Chemistry Department you will support multidisciplinary teams with structural information on protein-ligand complexes, as well as NMR-based screening data. We are looking for someone who wants to push the boundaries of applying NMR to drug discovery in our state-of-the-art facilities. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct protein and ligand-based NMR screens and provide validated hits to project teams
  • Support multidisciplinary teams in their effort characterize and optimize small molecule inhibitors
  • Provide hands on support in maintaining NMR and lab equipment infrastructure
  • Work together with protein scientists to provide (specifically) labeled protein
  • Explore and implement NMR experiments and technologies
  • Participate in collaborations with external partners

For this position we offer an interesting salary considering your expertise and personal competencies as well as your professional experience. We are obliged by law to state the minimum salary according to the collective agreement, which amounts to EUR 47,207.30 gross per year (full-time) for this position. An overpayment is possible. Moreover, we offer our employees a variety of attractive social benefits which will be introduced in the personal interview.


  • You have a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry or Biophysics with a focus on Protein NMR spectroscopy
  • 3+ years of postdoctoral experience preferentially in pharmaceutical industry
  • You have proven your skills in publications and presentations
  • You are experienced in cloning and expressing labeled protein targets including selective labeling
  • You have a thorough understanding of Biophysical techniques and their applications
  • You can work independently, plan, organize, troubleshoot, present work and show innovative thinking in multidisciplinary teams
  • You are well organized, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • English (fluent verbal and written) and German are our working languages
