Database Developer (m/f)

As a developer you will work in Vienna in the database team with five experienced colleagues on our homogenous (SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2014/2016) database environment which forms the backbone of our products and day-to-day business operations.

YOUR
TASKS

  • Database design and architecture
  • Query tuning and optimization
  • Work closely with other developer teams to refine their requirements
  • Create new or improve existing functionalities
  • Review, test and deploy code to production
  • Keep code base across multiple data centres in sync
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests from other departments
  • Plan and perform DDL/DML operations on large data sets on live production systems
  • Evaluate and introduce new development methods and tools to simplify our day-to-day work

YOUR
PROFILE

  • Experience in database design and development using MSSQL server technology
  • Experience with high-volume data tables and highly concurrent transactions
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Very good knowledge of TSQL with ability to write complex queries
  • Ability to adjust changing priorities and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Willingness to learn and improve your skills
  • Very good command of both spoken and written English
  • Beneficial skills/knowledge:
  • Issues tracking software and version control systems, continuous integration and automated deployment tools
  • Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler or other troubleshooting tools
  • SQL Server CLR and .NET Framework
  • Familiarity with object oriented programming language (C#)
  • Database replication, clustering, Windows Server
