Sales Manager, Europe

As Crystalline Mirror Solutions GmbH (CMS) continues to grow and redefine the field of precision laser optics, CMS is actively seeking a European Sales Manager.

The primary focus of this position will be to expand our business throughout Europe and develop the tools and methods necessary to accomplish this goal. In this position, you will be responsible for the overall sales success in the region by identifying business opportunities and managing those relationships to achieve growth objectives. In this customer-facing - and customer-centric - role, you will be the primary point-of-contact for customers and be their advocate and voice within CMS. A key factor for success in this position is being comfortable with detailed technical discussions, no matter the audience; be it physicists, engineers, or executives during customer visits or within CMS. Someone with a natural curiosity, willingness to learn, and affinity for sharing exciting technology with others is ideal for this role.

Sales Manager Europe


  • Identify and nurture customer relationships for both new and existing accounts
  • Master the sales cycle from generating and qualifying leads, negotiating opportunities, remaining engaged, and finally procurement
  • Construct target lists, develop sales plans, and forecast anticipated bookings and revenue generation
  • Demonstrate and present CMS technical knowledge and capabilities to the customer
  • Lead customer discussions and coordinate internal resources to meet customer needs
  • Solve customer challenges and obstacles with responsive, clear, and honest proposals
  • Maintain an expert level of knowledge about our products and capabilities with the goal of expanding the potential serviceable marketplace
  • Develop and present detailed product overviews during seminars and colloquia
  • Collaborate with Marketing and R&D to formulate and generate new sales and marketing materials
  • Provide market feedback to Marketing, R&D, and during company strategic planning discussions
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and workshops


  • 5+ years of technical sales experience in the photonics or semiconductor industries
  • Master's degree (PhD preferred) in engineering, physics, photonics, or related fields
  • Proven ability to increase revenue in a high-tech SME
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in German and English with a sense of ease for public speaking
  • Comfortable interacting on a technical level for problem solving and information sharing purposes
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, accurate, and able to work independently with minimal supervision while communicating frequently both internally and externally
  • Ability to be flexible and maintain an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Expected travel: 20-50%, sometimes with short notice

The offered compensation package includes a total annual gross fixed cash compensation of at least EUR 65.000 (equals EUR 4.642,86/month paid 14 times, working time 40h/week) with commissions and other benefits resulting from the company's rule and practices. The employment contract will be a local Austrian contract. Our salary packages are competitive and take individual qualifications and experience into consideration.
