As a Concept Engineer for Automotive Sensors you define the next generation of products by using our well established Hall- or outstanding GMR-, AMR technology together with signal conditioning ASIC and sensor package. You are responsible for the product requirements, the feasibility and cost estimation. In many cases the development is done in close cooperation with customers, where you are an important interface.

Job description

In your new role you will:

  • Define product requirements
  • Define product- and chip-architecture
  • Assess feasibility and estimate costs
  • Interact directly with customers
  • Technically lead within cross-functional teams
  • Define test / verification concepts
  • Develop reference models (System C, Matlab,…)
  • Be responsible for patent review and IP investigations

This job is suitable for full- and part-time.


You manage your performance consistently and reliably. You demonstrate strong communication skills, know how to establish lasting relationships and networks, clarify areas of responsibility, coordinate your work with colleagues, and regularly share your insights with them.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics or comparable
  • At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor product development, ideally in the automotive industry and/or sensor development
  • Fluent English skills with German skills as a plus
  • Knowledge of analog or digital chip design (system-modeling)

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H ( The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. A higher payment is negotiable depending on your expertise and skills. Furthermore, Infineon offers additional employee benefits.
