Tech Lead (m/f)

The Job
As Tech Lead you are responsible for shaping the digital future of UNIQA. Together with a team of experienced developers you build the technical landscape for our digital products and services. With your strong hands-on mentality you make sure that our solutions are scalable, reliable, testable and reusable.

Your main responsibilities

  • Establish a technical vision for Team Digital
  • Align the vision with IT executives and management
  • Empower and lead the development team to put the technical vision into practice
  • Implement innovative digital solutions (across desktop and mobile platforms) that serve the customer needs while aligning with the company's strategic goals.
  • Apply state-of-the art software design for high-traffic desktop and mobile web applications
  • Stay hands-on as part of a Scrum team that is young, dynamic, enthusiastic and full of ideas
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owner, UI and UX experts, Scrum Master and other Scrum Team members
  • Align internally with enterprise architects, solutions architects and security experts.
  • Ensure compliance to enterprise development guide lines as well as coding best practices
  • Establish quality standards within and manage skills of development team
  • Conduct code reviews & quality assurance
  • Act as a liaison to UITS application development team
  • Generate development related documentation

Your qualification

  • 5+ years in J2EE, 5+ years of Senior Development
  • 2+ years in leading development teams
  • Experience with agile methods (preferably SCRUM)
  • Experience with web-based services (SOAP, REST) and data formats (XML, JSON)
  • Strong understanding of Java EE 6/7, JBoss EAP, Wildfly, JAX-RS, JAX-WS, JPA, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MS/SQL
  • Familiarity with tools like Maven, jUnit, IntelliJ/Eclipse, Jenkins/CloudBees, Red Hat OpenShift
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git/BitBucket
  • Experience with automated document generation and handling, preferably with open-source components
  • Experience with handling security requirements in a client server environment: LDAP, SSO, Kerberos, Spring Security, Ping
  • Knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux environments, data encryption and signing
  • Fluent in English and German
